Louvre

As one of the most visited museums in the world, The Louvre has many priceless treasures within its walls. The museum has eight different curatorial departments (Near Eastern Antiquities, Islamic Art, Paintings, Egyptian antiquities, Greek, Etruscan and Roman antiquities, Decorative arts, sculptures and prints and drawings), which hold about 35,000 works of art and history. The masterpieces are endless, from Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa to his Madonna of the Rocks, from Delacroix's Liberty Leading the people to Jacques Louis David's Oath of the Horatii. Our Paris bound classmates were lucky enough to experience the beauty of the works in this museums.
Mr. Frederick Bernard says “a picture is worth a thousand words.” In this instance I have to say he is wrong because after seeing how Mona Lisa’s presence and beauty moves multitudes of people I am left speechless.” Fellow student Shelly Travis said about visiting museum and seeing Da Vinci’s artwork.
Paris is full of history; it is an artist’s dream and a city to just get lost in. I only hope I am able to see all the wonderful awe-inspiring sites that this beautiful city has to offer one day.
