Diving Into New Territory

Today was a tremendously fun day for our group. We didn’t have any morning speakers which allowed for more rest and it was marvelous. I was finally able to take advantage of the internet which is finally working! I uploaded pictures to Facebook which was a big accomplishment, because it allows my family and friends from back home to be able to keep up with the events of my days as they go by. At around 3:00pm this afternoon we purchased our metro passes for the week, this way we can travel throughout all the 5 zones of Paris if needed. After we finished we attended the afternoon session at the American University of Paris. We had a guest speaker talk to us about the do’s, don’ts, and common curtsey’s around Paris. She was a great speaker who brought much enthusiasm to the audience. She also spoke about her two books she wrote one discussing French culture and the other French cuisine. She talked to us about how to be polite and blend in with the French ways of doing things, so that we don’t offend anyone during our visit here. Once the guest speaker finished her section we proceeded to take the metro to another hostess’s home across town. Her house was extremely darling and had a variety of food for us to enjoy. There two more guest speakers who has history with the New Times Magazine spoke about having determination and a strong drive for whatever we have passion for. I’ve learned much from the many resourceful speakers and I will eagerly share what I have and will learn on this trip with my friends and fellow colleagues who are willing to listen.
