What a special city Paris is! The history and all that
surrounds me is breathtaking and rich. I connect and feel very comfortable in
Paris. Many times others feel overwhelmed or in fear of something bad happening
when visiting a city so far from home, but I truly feel at home. I enjoy
walking to places and taking the subways. No one is worried about another; they
are all just traveling to their next destination. I enjoy the simplicity of the
culture in Paris, from the subtleness of the way they speak to the simplicity
yet sharpness of their outfits or the simple way they greet others with a kiss
on each cheek. It’s so special.
Although I’m so used to having nice big grocery stores, I
think it is vey important to take myself out of my element. I am grateful for
this experience because this has shown me that I should never be in fear of
experiencing something new. There is so much that exists that is so special and
powerful that many do not get the chance to encounter because of fear of the unknown.
What a treat it will be if I was able to experience this everyday. Maybe Paris
will be my next home!
