What a special city Paris is. There is so much history and energy surrounding me. I find this experience breathtaking and rich. I connect and feel very comfortable in Paris. There is no sense of uncertainty or a feeling of discomfort around the Parisians. Many times others feel overwhelmed or in fear of something bad happening when visiting a country so far from home, but I truly feel at home. I enjoy walking to places or taking the subways. I enjoy the energy that everyone has. No one is worried about the other person here; they are all just focused on just getting to their next destination. I enjoy the simplicity of the culture in Paris, from the subtleness of the way they speak, the simple sharpness of their outfits, and the way they greet others with a kiss on each cheek; its all so special. Their culture and excitement is all amazing to witness. Although I’m so used to having nice big grocery stores, I think it is vey important to take myself out of my element. I am grateful for this experience because this has shown me that I should never be in fear of experiencing something new, like moving to another country. There is so much that occurs here and it is all so special and powerful that many don’t get the chance to encounter because of fear of the unknown. What a treat it will be if I was able to experience this everyday, maybe Paris will be my next home!
